Our roots

Remember that kid in school who always saw things a little differently? The dreamer? The misfit? That’s us.

Passion 1 – a plucky appraiser with a vision to bring the valuation industry back under the control of appraisers. Mountainous legislation, side-glances, insomnia...nothing would stop her.

Passion 2 - a serial entrepreneur who completely geeks out on simply growing businesses. Optimize, streamline, build, grow, and gather raving fans along the way…those are her mantras.

Together they searched for and found… 

 Tech 1 - a tech guru – who eats, sleeps and breaths tech in ways that made their heads spin (they never would have gotten this far without him)!

Collectively, they were willing to claw their way through piles of legislation, some dissention from our peers and lots of sleepless nights and together created one truly innovative idea….



We see things as they are, and as they should be. We are willing to stand up for what we believe is best for our industry, our clients, and the economy. We are willing to be a little playful and fun in an industry whose tone is generally (pardon the term), stuffy. But that doesn’t mean we don’t take the business of evaluations seriously.

Deb Clark, MAI
CEO | Co-Founder,

In addition to CEO of, Deb is the President and Chief Appraiser of MountainWest Valuations based in Casper, Wyoming, and a regional Board Member of The Appraisal Institute.


The last decade Deb spent on the front lines of the appraisal industry as an appraiser, and as an appraisal business owner, combined to create a deep sense of appreciation for what we do, while also uncovering the massive opportunities inherent in the valuation profession. Her energetic commitment to modernizing the appraisal industry is balanced between spending time with her favorite people and driving the solitary back roads of Wyoming.

Jennifer Gillihan
COO | Co-Founder,

For 25+ years Jennifer has been helping business owners navigate the ins and outs of marketing, sales, accounting, staffing, production and everything in between from startup to exit strategy. 


Solopreneurs to multi-million dollar organizations have leaned on her expertise to guide them through complex operational system design, implementation and optimization, thereby increasing both production and profits. An expert educator and coach, her passion is working with leaders and their teams to develop both the skills and mindset necessary to take their business to the next level.

Pierre Tapia
Product Advisor | Co-Founder,

Pierre is a software entrepreneur and product leader with more than 10 years experience bringing successful SaaS business solutions to market, and scaling them to reach millions of users. He currently serves as a product lead for Adobe’s Creative Cloud for business. He is passionate about helping mission-driven companies bring authentic, human-centered solutions to the world.

Peter Christensen
Legal Advisor

Peter's law practice is focused on legal and regulatory issues concerning real estate valuation, appraisal and valuation firms, appraisal management companies and insurance coverage.


His book Risk Management for Real Estate Appraisers and Appraisal Firms was published by the Appraisal Institute in August 2019. He's also published more than 60 articles relating to valuation legal issues, appearing in the Appraisal Institute’s Valuation Magazine and The Appraisal Journal, as well as in NAR‘s Realtor Magazine and the IRWA‘s Right of Way Magazine. He's presented hundreds of seminars to appraisers, appraisal/valuation firms and lenders.

Michael Haeder, MAI
Industry Relations Advisor

After receiving a degree in chemistry, Michael was enlisted by his father John Haeder to learn the family business, real estate appraisal.  For 15+ years Michael has been an avid practitioner of real estate valuations and brokerage services.  Michael has appraised over 1,000 single-family residences and also brokered commercial portfolios with 45+ properties, and everything else in between.  At present Michael splits his time between advising clients on acquisitions and dispositions while also leveraging his network and experience in the real estate industry  to bring to a unique perspective not often found.

Todd Gagne

Todd is a well rounded technological executive who has worked in many size software organizations. From multiple startups to various roles at Concur, one of the world’s leading providers of integrated travel and expense management solutions.Todd was involved in the high growth period as Concur grew from $10 million - $1.77 billion in revenue in 2017 and was acquired by SAP, a German software company, in 2014. Over that time, he has held executive positions in engineering, account management, sales, marketing and product marketing. His last role at Concur was heading up global product strategy for Concur Expense, Invoice and all of Concur’s Data Services. These solutions are leveraged by over 40 million users in 100+ countries and generated over 70% of Concur annual revenue. 


Over the last 3 yrs, Todd has been focused on helping develop a software ecosystem in the the midwest. Through mentoring, consulting and investing, Todd has helped early stage companies navigate the pitfalls of growth and help add meaningful jobs to our local communities. He describes himself as an entrepreneur, tech junkie, software executive and father of 2 kids living in the silicon prairie of South Dakota.

Henry Remache
Lead Developer

Henry is a software engineer with 10 years of experience developing software. He holds a bachelors degree in international business from the University of South Carolina and a masters degree from Loyola University.


In his career Henry has helped several start-ups in the United States and Latin America to develop solid digital businesses from initial idea to acquisition. Among other things he is fascinated by the interaction between technology and economic development, and how technology fosters entrepreneurship and development in developing nations. He is also very passionate about entrepreneurship and new product development especially for web and mobile solutions.

Ramon Ramirez
Product Lead

Born and raised from the Philippines, Ramon graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology. From there, he worked on different tech products ranging from online leasing of properties to telecom softwares to cloud based applications. Ramon has been working in the software development industry for 9 years. He enjoys the everyday challenge of his work and the growth that comes with it. 

Ramon loves spending his time with his family, reading books and working out. He also likes to watch boxing, MMA and F1 races.
